The TLC Gurukul Curriculum

Nursery to Sr KG

Pre-Primary Section:

TLC Gurukul has adopted Reggio Emilia approach under the able guidance of RBK Educational Institutions for imparting education which is student centered and constructivist self guided curriculum that focuses more on the experimental learning.

The Reggio Emilia approach to teaching young children puts the natural development of children as well as the  close relationships that they share with their environment at the center of its philosophy. The foundation of the Reggio Emilia approach lies in its unique view of the child: to foster education in the youngest learners along with its natural environment.

We believe that children have rights and should be given opportunities to develop their potential. Children are considered to be “knowledge bearers”, so they are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas about everything they could meet or do during the day. “Influenced by this belief, the child is beheld as beautiful, powerful, competent, creative, curious, and full of potential and ambitious desires.

The child is viewed as being an active constructor of knowledge. Rather than being seen as the. target of instruction, children are seen as having the active role of an apprentice. This role also extends to that of a researcher.

The students at TLC Gurukul get ample of opportunities to explore, observe, hypothesize, question, and discuss to clarify their understanding. Children are also viewed as social beings and a focus is made on the child in relation to other children, the family, the teachers, and the community rather than on each child in isolation.

Teaching is done through Thematic Pattern. The maximum effort is given to instil art/speaking skills in learners from their early age.

Academic session is split in four quarters; each quarter follows a particular theme along with the exposure to music, dance and art and craft activities.

Grade 1 to 8

Primary Section

TLC Gurukul follows the CBSE pattern which has always been a torch bearer when it comes to impart knowledge to students nationwide. It had taken Experiential Learning as the pedagogy for schools  with the increased significance and thrust in education for acquiring 21st Century Skills.

We make sure that teachers make the teaching joyful and meaningful for students. Teachers share their best practices and resources as an enabling instrument.

We keep a continuous supervision so that quality of education meets defined standards. The outcome based monitoring at various levels is not only academic but includes other related aspects of school life like physical, health, social and emotional growth of learners.

Our school Eco-Clubs would continue to promote environment and climate literacy and motivate learners to become champions for environmental sustainability. Our science club would continue to encourage our students to experiment and research.

TLC Gurukul will always strive for Education with a holistic perspective which will be concerned with the development of every child’s intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative and spiritual potentials. We will seek to engage students in the teaching/learning process and encourage personal and collective responsibility.
